Who we can place
To join our network, you will need the following. If you are close but not quite there, apply anyway and tell us where you are.
The requirements
- To be at least 21 years old
- Fluent spoken and written English
- A high school diploma, GED, or formal education in a child-related field
- At least two years of verifiable professional childcare experience, including at least one year of in-home care if you are applying for roles with younger children
- A valid US driver's licence, a good driving record, and active personal auto insurance
- At least two professional references from people you are not related to. Three is better.
- Valid US work authorization
- A clean criminal record
- To be a non-smoker
What counts as professional experience
Work as a nanny, daycare provider, teacher, camp counsellor, tutor, coach, or any paid position where your job was working with children. Occasional babysitting and volunteer nursery work count as supplementary, not as your main experience. We look for experience within the last two to five years, and we verify it with your former employers.
